The Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to help raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to support children facing barriers to learning. Funding is allocated based on the number of pupils eligible for free school meals, children who are looked after by the local authority, and those from service families.

We use Pupil Premium funding to provide targeted academic support, pastoral care, and enrichment opportunities that help to narrow attainment gaps and promote positive wellbeing.

Our approach is informed by evidence-based practice and is regularly reviewed to ensure it meets the needs of our pupils. The impact of our Pupil Premium funding is measured through pupil progress, attainment data, attendance, engagement, and wellbeing.

Registering for Free School Meals means the school receives additional funding to help support your child’s learning and wellbeing.

It is important that parents and carers of children who may be entitled to Free School Meals ensure this information is registered with the school. With the introduction of Universal Infant Free School Meals for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, some families may feel there is no need to apply. However, registering is still essential, as it enables the school to receive the correct level of funding to support children’s education.
