Dear Parents/Carers

I would like to thank everyone for their continued support during the current pandemic.  The children have settled well and are adjusting to working in bubbles.  The staff are working hard to ensure the children have a broad and balanced curriculum and we are looking after their emotional well-being through our Rainbow Curriculum.

We have worked extremely hard to maintain the ‘bubbles’ so that if we had a positive case of COVID-19 we would only have to send home the fewest amount of children.   Please remember to drop off and collect your children at the allotted time slot so that the children are mixing with as few children as possible outside of their year group.   We thank parents who are wearing face coverings when on the school site.

At the governors meeting this week, breakfast club and afterschool clubs were discussed.  Central to our operation in school is keeping children safe in their bubbles and not mixing children outside of bubbles.  During discussions it was clear that running breakfast and afterschool club, as we have in the past, would compromise our bubbles during the day.  We would also not have sufficient staff to adequately cover the clubs, nor the space in school to keep the children safe within their school day bubbles.  The rate of infection continues to give cause for concern.  It was decided by the governors that at the moment breakfast club and afterschool club will not be opening.  This will be reviewed again in November.  We recognise that some parents will find this disappointing and we apologise for this.  Our first priority is to provide the children with a good education in a safe way.

Thank you to the parents who have completed our survey.  Please can you complete this as soon as possible, so we can support children if we have to close due to a positive COVID-19 case.

Please could every parent return their contact information sheets as soon as possible.  Please ensure you have three contacts, one of which needs to be someone not living at your home address, this is for safeguarding purposes.

Before half term each class will be having an afternoon for parent meetings.  These will be via a telephone call.   You will receive a text asking you to book a 5 minute time slot.  This will be an opportunity to speak to your child’s new teacher and find out how they are settling in school.

If you have any concerns or worries please do not hesitate to contact school.  Please do not enter the school building unless you have been directed by staff.  Please do not go into the school main reception for safety reasons.   Please telephone 01228 815460 and leave a message and a member of staff will get back to you as soon as possible.   Alternatively you can e-mail school via

I hope everyone continues to stay safe and keep well.

Yours sincerely
