22nd  November 2021

Dear Parents and Carers.

Please could I ask all parents to be considerate if they are bringing their child to school via car.  Please drive slowly around the school entrances and please park responsibly.   We urge parents not to drive down Nursery Lane while the children are entering or exiting school.

Thank you so much for all your support for our sponsored events.  We have raised £1250.00 so far.  If you have sponsor money that needs to be sent to school please send in this week. All funds raised will be spent to enhance activities in school.

Thank you so much – we raised £150.00 for children in need.

Due to the on-going situation with COVID-19 we will not be having a traditional Christmas Fayre this year.   Each class will be creating items to sell.  We will be holding table top sales outside the classrooms or ask you to order on line once the children have created their items.   We would like to run a raffle alongside this and ask that parents donate bottles or food items so we can create Christmas hampers as part of this.  We will put out boxes for your donations next week.

Attendance and punctuality continue to be a key priority at Upperby and the support of our parents is crucial.  Attendance is mandatory for all pupils unless they are ill.  If your child / any member of your household develops Covid symptoms or has been advised to isolate, you should contact the school office for advice.  All appointments should be arranged outside of the school day.  If this is not possible, we ask that appointment cards are shared with the school office.  The Government expects pupils to have a minimum level of attendance of at least 97% (excluding Covid related absences).  We at Upperby will be continue to work towards this target for the forthcoming academic year and will be contacting parents’ if their child’s attendance or punctuality is causing us concern.

School closes on FRIDAY 17th DECEMBER at the normal finishing times

School re-opens on TUESDAY 4th JANUARY at the normal start times.

Please do not hesitate to contact school if you have any concerns.

Yours sincerely

J Hodgkins

Head Teacher.
