December Newsletter

Dear Parents/ Guardians

As we approach the Christmas holiday, I would like to thank you for your continued support for everyone in school. We are working hard to try and maintain high quality education within the COVID guidelines, this does mean that school is different for the children and staff, while making sure the children still feel safe and secure. We are aware that children (and some adults) have found the recent second lockdown challenging and this has impacted on anxiety levels for some children in school. We continue to work hard with our children to answer their worries and concerns around COVID. Please do not hesitate to contact school if you have any concerns, or speak to myself or Mrs Burns on the gate so we can arrange to contact you further.

CHRISTMAS CARDS – the children may bring Christmas cards for their friends in school. Each class has a box for the cards to be put in. The cards will be handed out on the last week of term. Please ensure you have posted your cards in school by the 14th December. This will ensure we have time to quarantine the cards before they are delivered.

CHRISTMAS JUMPERS – the children are allowed to wear Christmas Jumpers (or a bright coloured jumper) from Wednesday 16th December until the end of term.

CHRISTMAS PANTO – we are not able to have our visiting theatre group this year, however we have organised for the children to have a virtual pantomime during the last week of term. The cost of this will be covered by school funds.

DATES for your diary

11th December – Turn the school into a rainbow day in memory of our dear friend Ava. Please dress in your brightest clothes and we appreciate a £1.00 donation towards Jigsaw children’s hospice and a lasting memorial in the school grounds.

17th December – Each class will have a Christmas party in their class (or year group) bubble. School will provide everything for the party, we thank you for your donations on odd sock day.

18th December – December Birthdays Party afternoon. We will celebrate with an afternoon party for the children who have their birthdays during December. This will ensure the children can enjoy the birthday afternoon with their friends. School will provide everything for the parties.

SCHOOL CLOSES ON 18th DECEMBER at normal finishing times.

SCHOOL RE-OPENS ON MONDAY 4th JANUARY. Please ensure that you continue to use the current drop off and collection procedures.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Staff, Parents and Governors for all their support over the last term. It has been extremely challenging term, I know that after Christmas we will continue to have some challenges and no doubt some more guidelines. Your children make my day – to see them smiling and enjoying school is a delight. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas.

Yours sincerely

J Hodgkins
