Thomas has sent through some of his work from Studyladder, that he couldn't do on the computer.  Some artwork and some instructions about how to wash a dog.  Well done - I love seeing all of the work that you are doing!  πŸΆβ­

A (Year 3) made her own mince and carrot pies this week, it was her first attempt at shortcrust pastry. Mum told us that they were delicious!  She also made everyone’s lunch today, butterflies and paw prints made from baguettes, cheese and grapes.  Yum!
T (Year 1) was happy to get his platinum certificate on Studyladder earlier in the week too.

I (Year 3) and S (Year 6) made cakes and small flags with their younger sister from paper and tooth picks and delivered them to neighbours.  They also decorated the front window of their house.  Didn't they do a good job!  🍰 yes

Here are our busy bees again!  yes

L (Year 3) and C (reception) have also been doing quizzes that their grandad emails for them.  L had to turn binary numbers into decimal and then into letters to decode a message.  C had to fill in missing numbers on odd and even number lines, he even spotted a mistake that his grandad had made! 

They’ve also both been practising their handwriting. L hopes to improve and earn his pen license while he’s off school.  Keep going both of you - you are doing a super job!  β­πŸ“βœ

L (Year 3) and C (reception) made a treasure map.  C helped mum draw and colour the map and L wrote the directions.  They then went and hid the treasure in their nana and grandad's back garden and posted the treasure map through their front door.  The boys had fun tea-staining the paper to make it look old.  And their nana and grandad enjoyed the brownie we hid for them.  How lovely! πŸ˜ŠπŸ”β­

M (Year 4) and H (reception) enjoyed celebrating VE Day and H made a chocolate cake using a WW2 recipe.  M has been working through her weekly 10 and enjoying doing some craft activities.  They made origami bracelets (very impressive) and have watched live feeds of zoos.  They have also hatched butterflies - very exciting!  πŸ¦‹πŸΌπŸŽ

Looks who's been having a lovely time at home!  They've had a lovely walk around Kingmoor Woods and a good pamper at mammy T's salon.  It looks like they celebrated VE Day in style.  They've been practising their basketball and guitar skills too!  πŸ€πŸŽΈsmiley

B (from Year 4) has been pond dipping and is going to identify what they have found later today.  She was fascinated by the moorhen chicks.  She have made kites and flown them.  At the weekend she went to drop something off at her great grandma's house (who lives near the sea) and did some exploring on a quiet part of the beach whilst the tide was out.  They found star fish eggs and thought about what might have been leaving all the crab bodies all over the rocks.  They thought seagulls, what do you think?  πŸ¦€

Charlie (Year 3) has been writing all about Giraffes.  I am very impressed that he has planned before writing - just like we do in school.  A great piece of writing and a super drawing!  βœπŸ‘

A (from Year 3) has been busy with lots of activities including: walking and cycling, sewing, making a Piñata from recycling, making finger print thank you cards, building Lego kits and making bunting and baking scones for VE day.  She also celebrated her 8th birthday and had a lovely day playing games and eating cake!!  Happy belated birthday!  πŸ°πŸŽˆπŸŽ

O (Year 4) and J (Year 2) celebrated VE Day in their cub and beaver uniforms and clapped for all key workers.  They have been getting lots of exercise in their garden.  They are missing everyone at school, but love getting their phone calls from Miss Ion and Mrs Lawson.  πŸ‘πŸ“žheart

L (from Year 2) has been very busy completing his weekly 10 activities off the Year 2 page.  I am told he really enjoyed making cookies and a cup of tea for mum, making a shop and money, drawing, making a VE poster and writing about VE day and making a butterfly feeder.  He really enjoyed doing Bitesize lessons, and doing his poem.  Fantastic work!  πŸ¦‹πŸ₯€πŸ˜Š

​L (Year 3) and C's (reception) uncle is a police officer.  He posted sheets through their door for them to colour in.  L has been doing his Studyladder all week as well as working through the work book off the Year 3 class page, he has played on Purple Mash and also Hit the Button. 

C has been reading Dragon Bay and writing about the story.  He’s also been on scraps phonics and Hit the Button.  Keep up the good work.   

They are both missing all their friends and teachers.  I am sure all of your friends are missing you too boys, all of your teachers certainly are!    yesheart

Some lovely pictures have been sent through from J (in Year 4) and L (in Year 2) showing what they got up to last week.  L went on a mini-beast hunt.  He created a map and wrote all about them.  J made a parachute, cracked some morse code and wrote about how to make a homemade pizza.  He also wrote about Brazil, made a booklet and a medal of honour.   

The family completed a 2 minutes silence together on their front door step, had a BBQ to celebrate VE day and ate what looks like a delicious cake.  heart

A and I from Year 5 were very busy on VE DAY decorating the house with buntings and baking...

11am - 2mins silence.. 3pm Winston Churchill speech followed by afternoon tea and songs by Vera Lynn finished off with the Queens speech at 9pm.  What a wonderful spread and great way to celebrate 75 years on.  heart

Lucas (Year 3) and younger brother C (Reception) have been learning all about space today after Miss Henry sent a quiz for them to do.  Miss Davidson sent them a link for a book all about space and planets and they did some research themselves and they decided to design their own planets.  Lucas’s is called 2048 and is made of rainbows, bubbles and binary numbers (which he’s been learning about this week) and is hotter then the sun at a million degrees.  C's is called Chip and is just past Pluto, it is very cold, made of gas and is -250 degrees brrr!  Wow - super home-learning boys!  ⭐yes

M (from Year 4) has been busy this week doing her activities on VE Day. 

She really enjoyed a morse code and rationing worksheet, and today she explored paratroopers and parachutes.  She discovered that size does affect the speed and effectiveness of parachutes.  Her toy cow moo seemed to have fun too!  So lovely to see - well done!  πŸ›«β­

O (from Year 3) is raising money for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw Children’s Hospice with his football team, using their daily exercise for a good cause.  They are aiming to walk / cycle / run the distance from Brunton Park to Wembley Stadium (311 miles).  At the end of day 1 they'd raised £300!

We have had lots of work sent in from E in Year 3.  He has not only been working through his Studyladder activities, but has also been working through worksheets, completing Bitesize daily tasks and some Ted-Ed learning.  He also learnt about astronaut food, before trying some himself! 

I'd love to know if he liked the astronaut food - I will be asking when we get back to school!  Well done!  πŸ‘©‍πŸš€πŸš€πŸŒ–

She was so excited to receive a call off Mrs Weir.  I know that Mrs Weir enjoyed this too!  

H has really been enjoying Studyladder and can't wait to get on it in a morning!

Matthew (from Year 2) has made an obstacle course.   He sent us a great video - here are some highlights from it!  Looping around the cones, jumping over obstacles, knocking over skittles, playing Swingball, travelling across the mat and getting the football in the net.

A (from Year 3) has clearly had fun making milk bottle bird feeders for the garden and jelly fish from the bottoms of plastic bottles.  How creative!  πŸŽ¨
T (from year 1) has his bronze and silver awards for Study ladder, he’s working his way towards the gold award now, and says he’s really enjoying it.  Well done!  πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰

H & A (from Year 2) and L (from nursery) are missing all their friends and teachers.  They made a birthday card for Captain Tom Moore - after researching all about him on Google.  Very thoughtful!  heart 

All three made their own gardens - dinosaur and fairy ones and even made a bug hotel!  L painted a unicorn stain glass window.  πŸ¦•πŸ§š‍β™€οΈπŸ¦„

The twins got their end of season awards yesterday.  They both got player of the year for the most matches played and training sessions attended and another award for playing well as part of the team. βš½  A very big well done to you all!

They also stayed up late one night to go stargazing!  Mum tells us that they spotted Venus, Sirius and Vega, but sadly couldn’t spot the lyrid meteor shower.

Meah has completed one of Year 4’s weekly ten activities.  They were asked to write a poem, so Meah decided to write a poem which turned into a little wrap all about 2020 Lockdown.  Well done - something lovely to look back on in the future!  yes

A (from Year 3) has sent some lovely pictures in!  She has been learning how to tell the time, has completed English worksheets and has been ordering numbers.  She has been spending time on the 'My Family' project and has made a family tree.

She has been keeping a diary (how nice to look back on) and has been reading every day.  She has also been having lots of fun drawing, crafting, trampolining, cycling, gardening, baking and building Lego.  Wow - super busy!  Well done!  heart

M (from Year 4) and H (from reception) took inspiration from Miss Wilson’s obstacle course and made their own in their garden and on the path outside.  They had lots of fun!

F (from Year 6) has had a super organised timetable so far.  He has worked through his KS2 study books, completed spag,com tests, Spelling shed, RR times tables, reading book quizzes, has created drawings for NHS stay home window pictures, made a Snowy Owl factsheet, designed an Earthquake proof building, made a 'How to Survive an Earthquake' poster, created a table about the pros and cons of volcanos, is learning about Tectonic Plates, has done coding, is learning how to use Excel, Word and Publisher, has been cooking & baking, gardening and has most recently started using Studyladder.

Just wow!  What fantastic home-learning!  heart

M (from Year 4) has been busy working through the Food project from the school website.  She really enjoyed making shopping lists and drawing healthy foods.  She did fruit and vegetable printing, and researched artists who used food in their work.  She looked up the meanings of different diets, and finished the week off her cooking a meal all on her own!  How creative - well done!  yes

Here is I (from year 4).  She has been extremely busy - not only with Maths & English.  She has done a mini-beast project, has been doing Yoga or Joe Wicks each morning, has made a reading den in the garden, an obstacle course and is currently tracking how well her seeds grow.

E (Year 3) has been doing lots of work.  He has carried out a Science experiment where he put some water in a glass with some oil, food colouring and a fizzy tablet.  This made a lava lamp.  Well done - we will have to try this at school!  smiley

L (Year 3) has completed homework sheets and has started working on his Roman topic work. 

He has made a newspaper article, made a Roman mosaic and made ancient Roman flat breads for his family for dinner.  I believe he has been reading every day too.  Some super work & those flat breads look delicious!  yes

During the first week off school, L & J (Y2 & 4) learned some new skills gardening, stripping wallpaper and making lentil and bacon soup from scratch as well as doing the home packs.  They have read every day and done maths etc and enjoyed the sunshine in our back garden.  Just perfect!  smiley

Leighton & Jenson (Y2 & 4) have been busy!  Mum has set up a super fun timetable that keeps them all occupied.   Leighton made an Easter bonnet and Jenson made an Easter egg scene (the Anglo-Saxons are protecting everyone from the Vikings).  Well done boys!  smiley
