In our Inspirational Role Model project we've been learning about Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas, who inspired young rugby players to fulfil their dreams regardless of their background.
On Wednesday Upperby School was very lucky to have some special visitors from China to tell us all about the Chinese New Year. They showed us how they celebrate with tradition, dragons, and songs and we learned how important this event is to the people in China.
We would like to inform you that year 5 will be given the chance to go on a 3 night residential trip to Brathay Hall in Ambleside from Monday 4th May until Thursday 7th May 2020.
This exciting opportunity will allow children to develop independence and confidence, as well as the ability to recognise strengths and weaknesses in a constructive way. Children will stay Brathay Hall, a residencial centre which is designed to cater to residential groups. All food and travel will be included in the total cost of the trip. Please be reassured that the children will be closely supervised by experienced members of staff.
The total cost of this trip is £250, which can be paid online via scopay system. Please note that this has been subsidised by school. In order to secure a place we will require a £40 non-refundable deposit by Friday 22nd November 2019. If you receive Pupil Premium you may be able to apply for £50 discount.
