Upperby Primary is a large (and growing) primary school of 408 pupils ranging from Nursery through to Year 6. On the outskirts of Carlisle, the school stands in the local community of Upperby and prides itself on being a 'You can Do It' school. This embraces everything we do at our school and is embedded firmly in our school ethos and in the education, care and support we provide for our children and families. You Can Do It is rooted in ensuring pupils are well grounded socially and emotionally in order that they may grow and develop as well-rounded future members of society.
Upperby Primary has an extremely strong team ethic with all stakeholders supporting one another very well. In our school assemblies we often mention the importance of 'team effort' and the children know exactly why this is so important.

Our school is also seen as a school 'family', with all members caring and looking out for one another. This analogy is often referred to in assemblies and promotes the qualities of friendship, empathy, respect, tolerance and kindness which help shape our You can Do It citizens of the future, of whom we hope we can be very proud!
